Small Town Dives

Ever feel like you’re trapped in a revolving dream?

Enter the twilight zone of small town bars, filled with locals, pool tables, cheap beer, smokers lingering outside, and just good enough music, usually a mix of classic rock and pop songs that women dance to.

On the last night of our friend’s bachelor party the three single guys headed into town to find a place to go out. We ended up at a bar that reminded me of the dive in the small beach city where I live. All the basic elements were there.

I cant get this idea out of my mind that the places are always the same and it’s just subtle changes in decoration that change from one place to another, one time to another.

The bartender
Same non-player-character you’ll see if you come back 10 years from now, same as the future.

“What are you drinking?”

“Can I get you a drink"?”

The hustler
Challenging you to a game of pool or foosball as if he sucks.

“Want to play. a game for a beer?”

The alcoholics
There from open to close, every day.

“You know what gets me triggered?”

Something tells me in the future, it’s all going to be the exact same as it is now.
